ET Labz Policies and Guidelines

 

ET Labz is committed to creating a positive inclusive environment for its students and staff.  For this reason, it is important that all students and parents understand and abide by the company policies and guidelines as outlined below. 
 

REGISTRATION:

ET Labz accepts students ages 5-30. New students may register by phone (718) 948-2208, online, or in person. After the first class is booked, students should commit to ongoing weekly classes.  

*IF CLASSES DO NOT BEGIN AT THE START OF THE MONTH, CLIENTS WILL ONLY PAY FOR THE REMAINING CLASSES IN THE MONTH”
 

MISSED CLASSES:

Consistency and commitment are the keys to developing and mastering any pursuit.  Therefore, students are encouraged to attend every class in order to advance their skills.  If a student must miss a class, we ask that you please call, text, or email management with a minimum of 24 hours in advance.   *We do not issue refunds.  No call or no show classes are considered forfeited *

IMPORTANT: IF A STUDENT IS SICK, PLEASE DO NOT COME IN. (SEE BELOW FOR MAKEUP CLASS POLICY) 

SICKNESS:

Students who are suffering from colds or other infectious illnesses shall not enter the studio. The same applies to the teachers. An online class (via Zoom/Skype/Facetime/Google Hangout) is the preferred solution to this situation. Should the student be too unwell to participate in an online class, provided as much notice as possible is given, every effort will be made to make up the class. 

MAKE UP CLASSES:

Any class cancelled at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled lesson, OR if sickness or emergency occurs, a make-up lesson will be available at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student.  Make-up options are strictly based on availability, so the sooner advanced notice is given, the more options there will be to reschedule. Typically, make-up classes will take place at an alternate time/day within the week, or can be given virtually. All make-ups are to be booked with office management. Cancelled make-up classes will not be made up. 

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS:

ET Labz does not follow the public or private school weather open/close schedules.  In the event of extreme weather, the decision regarding class cancellations will be made the night before, or 12 noon the day of classes (if on a weekday during the school year). Notification will be called, emailed, and/or texted to students, as well as posted on corresponding socials.

 

IF YOUR TEACHER CANCELS:

In most cases, when your teacher cannot be here, we will find a suitable substitute teacher and the class will continue as regularly scheduled upon notifying the student.   If your teacher cancels a class, and we are unable to find a substitute teacher, we will find a make-up date.  

HOLIDAY BREAKS:

We will be CLOSED on all major Holidays including New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween (up to teachers discretion), Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. Please advise your teacher and/or office management as soon as you know you will have to miss a class due to any religious obligations & holidays, so we can accommodate accordingly. 

 

ATTENDANCE:

Students who arrive late cannot be guaranteed a full class, so please try and be on time. Let your teacher or management know if you are running late. 

 

SUMMER PROGRAMS:

ET Labz offers year round classes. Students are highly encouraged by their teachers to continue classes throughout the summer months to maintain their level of proficiency.  Additional summer programs will be available with modified hours.    
 

EMERGENCY EXIT PLAN:

ET Labz is handicap accessible. Emergency evacuation and exits are located down the hall towards the front of the building, and also at the entrance.  

PAYMENTS:

Self Pay: We accept Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard, Amex,  & PayPal

 

Self Direction: We accept direct payment from the following Fiscal Intermediaries: Person Centered Care Services (PCCS), A Very Special Place (AVSP), Children At Play (CAP), Prime Support and more! If you have any other FI, you can pay direct and submit our invoice for reimbursement. Any corresponding MOU’s must be signed and completed before beginning a new class. **This is subject to change based on the OPWDD guidelines.
 

DISCOUNTS:

We offer a 5% discount off every sibling after the first child. 

For lessons 45 minutes or longer, there is a 20% discount rate if payment is received up front via cash or check.

EMAILS AND TEXT MESSAGE UPDATES:

Parents must agree to receive text message and marketing email regulations.
